The first of a series of blog posts about life in Athens & City Circus
Welcome to the City Circus blog! On here you’ll find out about events around Athens and in the hostel that you might not find anywhere else. Athens is our city and we want to give you a local experience during your stay. We’ll update our blog whenever we hear about something that might be of interest to our guests and to start things off, we’ll tell you about our New Year’s Eve party!
Happy New Year from the City Circus team! May this year bring you all only happiness and lots of travels. At City Circus we had a fantastic time ringing in the new year with all of our guests! The evening started with finger food from our chef Chrissa at Zampanó and sparkling wine.
Once people started arriving and we had a bit of a group together, we cut the vasilopita (translation “King’s cake”). This is a traditional New Year’s Eve cake, in which a coin is hidden. Whoever gets the slice with the coin inside will have good luck for a year and this year that lucky person was Heather, one of our very own team members. When it came close to midnight, many guests went to the rooftop terrace to watch the fireworks show over the acropolis. All in all, it was an incredible night with awesome guests, tasty food and a lot of fun.
